My aunt was the first person in my family who moved to Canada from India to get a better education. Couple of years later she had call my mother and the rest her family over to Canada. My mother and her brothers and sisters all used to work in a farm picking berries and apples. They picked berries for a couple of years. When my mother and her brothers and sisters used to be picking berries they had helped create many new jobs. Some of the jobs my family helped create are fruit juice companies, because if my family never picked berries and apples we would not have apple juice or cranberry juice. The juice companies help people get jobs at a super mart because now they have something to sell. I am proud to say that my family helped create new jobs not only for my country but around the world.
Ethnocentrism is when the view of things in which one’s own group is the center of everything, and all others scaled and rated with reference to it. In my opinion, I think ethnocentrism is very effective, because there are many countries that think that they are the center of the earth. An example would be South Korea because in South Korea they have one network that is all Korean and everyone in Korea must have this network. By having their own network, it showing that they come first and everyone else is not important.
The internet was might to help humans lives easier by being able to communicate with people on the other side of the world, see what’s happening around the world, but now many teens are being bullied and committing suicide over the internet. Now that we live in the 20st century most students have access to a computer where they chat with people, who sometimes are not who they seem to be. The people who make fake accounts end up spreading rumour about their victims and ruin their lives which lead to suicide. The manifest is computers were supposed to help make our lives easier and the latent is by making it easier to access computers, it is that much easier for bullies to bully.
Hi, my name is Satveer Singh Boparai this is currently my first year at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I am working towards majoring in the Associate’s of Art Criminology Degree. The career pursue in life is to become a part of the Canada Border Service Agency (C.B.S.A). I chose this career because ever since I was in grade ten and I had decided that when I would grow up and become a police officer, but my parents did not want me too. So I decided to become a part of the Canada Border Service Agency, so I still will be working for the government and will be in a uniform. I’m interested in sports such as Basketball, Football, Soccer, Tennis and Hockey. But my favorite sport to watch is hockey and my favorite teams are Vancouver Canucks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. I also like to hang out with my friends. I really don’t know much about Sociology, but I am hoping to learn more about our society and our world. I decided to take Sociology because it is class that I had to take in order for me to achieve my goal and getting my Degree. Once this class is complete, I will hopefully understand how our society works and be able to view it differently.
